  • Ninja Warriors Need Great Smiles Too

    By admin May 31st

Did you know that every child should be seen by the orthodontist at the age of 7 years old? It’s true – and even though Dr. Arango doesn’t recommend treatment for most kids until they get all of their adult teeth, seeing them early is highly recommended. We also like to see kids for periodic checkups as they grow and their baby teeth are replaced by adult teeth. We call this service “growth and guidance” and it’s absolutely free. We also get to meet some pretty cool kids in the process, like Quinn Swanson.

The following article was originally published in the September 2018 Edition of Broadmoor Friends & Neighbors –
    C
ongratulations to Quinn Swanson, fourth grader at Broadmoor Elementary, who recently competed in the 7–9 age boys group in the UNAA (United Ninja Athlete Association) sanctioned World Finals for America Ninja Warrior. He started with a local competition last Christmas break where he completed every obstacle and won the competition. Since then he has competed in one other local competition, a state competition and a Western Regional competition. He completed every obstacle in every competition, winning every time except the Western Regional where he placed second due only to a slightly slower time.

Because of his success at the regional competition, he was granted an invitation to the World Finals. Conveniently, the finals competition was held in Albuquerque, NM this past summer. Over 400 athletes of all ages and both genders, including amateurs and professionals, traveled to Albuquerque to compete. Countries like Australia, Scotland, England, Canada and Guam were represented along with 38 of our 50 United States.

Quinn competed against 43 boys in his group and completed 8 of the 10 obstacles ahead of him. He ultimately finished 17 and just barely missed qualifying for the final round.· “We’re very impressed by Quinn’s natural abilities and his demeanor during competition;· said dad, Matt. “Although he competed against boys who train as often as daily on routine obstacles, Quinn was able to keep pace without much history or regular coaching.” “Quinn stayed calm and was a very good sport when things went both good and bad. It is no surprise, as he has been intrigued with monkey bars and climbing as high as possible since he was able to walk,” smiled mom, Staci.

Congratulations to our own local ninja warrior.
